Red/Green Cancellation

Red/Green Cancellation is best achieved with standard monitor settings. If you have made special color adjustments, results may be diminished.

In many instances, you can make your cancellation better by adjusting your screen brightness up or down while looking at a graphic.

Look at these graphics. Adjust your screen’s brightness until you get the best results. If you need to know how to adjust your brightness, you’ll find instructions below these graphics.

Adjusting Brightness

On a PC computer

Open the Settings app from your Start menu or Start screen, select “System,” and select “Display.” Click or tap and drag the “Adjust brightness level” slider to change the brightness level. If you’re using Windows 7 or 8, and don’t have a Settings app, this option available in the Control Panel.

On a laptop, look at your computer keyboard. There is often a shortcut key for adjusting the brightness up or down. Often, the icon on the key looks like a sun or light.

On an iPad tablet

Go to Settings > Display & Brightness. Drag the slider to the right or left. If your iOS device has an ambient-light sensor, you’ll see an Auto-Brightness setting under the slider. Auto-Brightness uses a light sensor to adjust brightness based on your surroundings.

On an Android tablet

On some tablets, the brightness slider is in your quick settings (accessed by swiping up from bottom or down from top depending on tablet model).

OR, go to Settings. Select Display.  Select Brightness Level. Use slider to adjust up or down.

On a phone

We don’t recommend playing these games for cancellation on a phone. Screen size is a factor. If you still want to do it, adjust phone brightness exactly the same as for iPad or Android tablets.
